Q Did you recognize this individual?

A No. I did not.

Q What happened next?

A The man approached the bar and spoke briefly with the bartender. Then he sat down at a table near the window.

MR. HENDERSON: Objection. The witness is narrating.

THE COURT: Sustained. Counsel, please ask a specific question.

Q BY MR. JOHNSON: Did the man effect any other individuals in the restaurant?

A Yes. He spoke to a woman seated alone. She appeared visibly shaken, sir.

Q Can you describe this woman?

A She was approximately forty years old, medium height, with dark-brown hair.

Q Did you hear any of the conversasion between the man and this woman?

A Only fragments. I heard him say something about a meeting the following morning.

A Yes. The patient presented with acute respiratry distress. She was cognizant but visibly in pain.

Q And what was your initial diagnosis?

A Based on my examination I believed she was suffering from a severe asthma attack exacerbated by an underlying chronic condition.

Q Did you administer treatment immediately?

A Yes I did. We administered bronchodilators and placed her on supplemental oxygen right away.

Q Was the patient able to communicate with you at that time.

A She was. She told me she had been experiencing symptoms for several hours before coming in. I told her that delaying treatment was deleterious to her recovery.

Q Did you consult with any other physicians?

A Yes. I proffered my assessment to the attending pulmonologist who agreed with my diagnosis.

Q In retrospect do you believe the treatment plan was appropriate.

A Yes, absolutely. In retrospect the treatment was not only appropriate it was the most efficacious course of action given the circumstance.
